Summary
The Community Protection Act is a fair
and equitable solution to the incessant squabbles over annexation issues
within Pinellas County.
Whether or not the people of Lealman wish
to pay the current high fire protection costs or opt for another solution
should be the choice of the voters living in Lealman.
Government and its institutions are
supposed to serve the people. After all, it still is “government of the
people, by the people and for the people” isn’t it? We, as voters have
let that important and uniquely American principle erode to the point that
the peoples’ voice is secondary to the voice of government institutions.
The issues facing Lealman are more
important than you can possibly imagine. Through the exercise of our vote,
we the people can speak but we must insist that we be heard.
