This site was developed to keep the residents of Lealman informed
of the progress emanating from two initiatives.
1.
Our County Commissioners have directed the County Planning and
Community Development Department's to assess the Lealman area and make
recommendations for a revitalization plan.
2.
With support from volunteers from the community a comprehensive
study was done of the East Lealman Area.
3.
The study was presented to and approved by our County
Commissioners.
Out of that initiative the Lealman Community Association
was revived and took an active role in addressing the most pressing
issues facing the residents of Lealman.
1.
The high cost of garbage collection
2.
Street lighting
3.
Derelict cars and code enforcement in general.
4.
Lack of green space and areas where our children could play
5.
Annexation into the Lealman area affecting our ability to support
our fire district.
We feel that this Web Site will be the most efficient way
to keep the property owners, renters and business owners of Lealman
aware of the issues that directly affect them as a community and as tax
payers.
It is our hope to get more residents involved and participating in the
upcoming discussions of community improvements. If you are not aware of the
issues facing Lealman, we strongly recommend that go to the News Articles page and catch up on the
facts.
We urge you to read the chain of events that had led us to look at
incorporation as a remedy and the subsequent involment with county
government that has led us in a different direction. For the latest information always check the
Bulletin Page first. We also welcome your comments.
This site was made available thru the generous commitment of Lealman
resident Sasha Friedman, owner of WebNests.com.
