Showing off the bridal look to 抖阴福利导航 classmates…and future students!
Last week, the Glendale Heights campus had a creative demonstration night on summer wedding styles for bridesmaids and bridal looks. There was a mini-competition involved (to keep things interesting!) and we were able to show potential TUBC students all we鈥檝e learned鈥o far!
Between my classmates and I, there were three contestants: me, Tori Robinson, and Sandy Bialon. We had a great time demonstrating what we鈥檝e learned in the classroom 鈥� and hope the potential students like what they saw!
I choose to create a destination wedding-themed look for the competition. My model wore an A-line wedding dress with satin ribbons and I attached some tulle to the back of the dress to make a train. For my model’s hair, I used hot rollers to set her hair and used lotion to add sheen and hold. This method is less damaging than a curling or flat iron and would hold in the summer heat and humidity. After it was dry I made a basket weave in the back to add some flare and topped it off with a beautiful hair comb embellished with satin flowers and pearls. I finger-combed the curls and finished with Redken 鈥淪hine Flash鈥� and Quick Dry.
For makeup, I went for a very soft bridal look by using a custom blended foundation powder (mixed by our own esthetics students), used shadow with greens and browns to bring out their beautiful brown color and a very light gloss to give just a hint of color on the lips.
And鈥�.I won the competition!聽 My prize was a basket of goodies and being 鈥渃rowned鈥� for the night. It was a very rewarding experience for the both models and stylists 鈥� but especially fun for me because I do some wedding planning as a hobby!聽 Hopefully the future TUBC students enjoyed it as much as we did.
