Crime Watch

Neighborhood Crime Watch Program. As you all know, our area is policed by the County Sheriff's Dept. Because of the  high incidents of crime in our area, the Sheriff's Dept. has put more resources into the Lealman area than in most unincorporated areas. Yet, we still have a crime problem. Why? Because the Sheriff's patrols simply can't be everywhere.

CRIME IS A COMMUNITY PROBLEM. IF WE WANT A SAFE COMMUNITY THEN WE HAVE TO JOIN IN THE BATTLE WITH THE SHERIFF'S DEPT.

The Crime Watch Program takes very little of your time. Most of the time all you need to do is be observant of what is happening around your neighborhood. Through an organized system, you can quickly spread the word to your neighbors and to the Sheriff's Dept.  when you see a crime or suspicious activity occurring. Also, you gain the benefit of being warned of criminal activity in your neighborhood.

This is nothing more than neighbors watching out for each other.  And it makes sense to do it!

We have a Crime Prevention Specialist assigned to Lealman, Deputy Denise Nestor. She is here to assist in  organizing the Crime Prevention program within Lealman and attends the LCA monthly meetings.
Her phone number is:582-5613.

Do you share for your community. Call Denise Nestor or Ray Neri (527-5352) for more information on how to start a Crime Watch unit in your area.
